RugGear RG725 wins the iF DESIGN AWARD
RugGear, the leading manufacturer of rugged mobile phones, has won this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD from the world-renowned design label in the telecommunications category with its RG725 Push-to-talk smartphone. The RG725, a device as flexible and fast to use as a walkie-talkie, but with all the advantages of a full-fledged smartphone based on Android™ 8.1 Oreo™, was awarded for its outstanding, innovative and functional design.
Award-winning push to talk design
The iF DESIGN AWARD is presented once a year by the world’s oldest independent design institution, iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover. “We are very proud to have won the award and see our advantage in the fact that, as an international company with German roots, we combine the best of both worlds: Design and engineering in Germany, production in China,” says Martin Haaf CEO of RugGear, commenting on his success. “With the RG725, we have developed a device that offers many different functions for a variety of work requirements and convinces with its innovative, industry-leading push-to-talk design for industrial users”. The 67-strong, independent, international expert jury also honored this. The number of applicants was large: The jurors had to award the coveted seal of quality from among 6,375 entries from 52 countries. For 66 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been a globally recognized trademark when it comes to excellent design. The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most important design awards in the world. It honours design achievements in all disciplines: product, packaging, communication and service design/UX, architecture and interior design as well as professional concept. All award-winning entries will be presented in the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE, published in the iF Design App and exhibited at the iF Design Exhibition Hamburg. The awards ceremony will take place on 15 March 2019 at BMW Welt Munich.
