RugGear joined the global 450 MHz Alliance
RugGear currently has joined the 450 MHz Alliance, an association with members including companies of the wireless industry, wireless carriers, equipment manufacturers and companies representing vertical markets for machine-to-machine communication.
With support of the 450 MHz Alliance RugGear continues to strengthen the importance of the 450 MHz spectrum like Band 31 for the area of critical communications. As developer and manufacturer of rugged mobile phones, smartphones and tablets for professional use, RugGear plans to further expand its portfolio of mobile devices that are suitable to meet the long-term 450 MHz requirements for mission critical scenarios.
The frequencies in the 450 MHz range are extremely well suited for establishing a highly available and at the same time fail-safe radio network infrastructure for critical infrastructures. Critical infrastructures include the supply of energy, water, food, information technology/ telecommunications, the health sector, finance and insurance, as well as transport and traffic. On a larger scale also government and administration as well as media and culture could be included.
In addition to the important security aspects and wide coverage, the 450 MHz band offers group PTT and PTT video capabilities, LTE support and extremely enhanced voice, data and video services, especially for public safety.
Presenting the RG760 for Band 31 (450MHz spectrum)
RugGear joins the alliance by presenting the RG760, its world’s first PTT-ready solution with private/public LTE to support the 450MHz spectrum (Band31).
The device has been designed for professional use with special focus in the Mission Critical area, for this reason it has a dedicated PTT-button. The RG760 is a PTT over network device to support Band 31, securing high-speed wireless communication via public or private LTE. The RG760 guarantees connectivity even in areas that are currently unconnected by mainstream networks, such as rural, underground, offshore locations or even disaster regions. The Android™ PTT-Smartphone is eMBMS ready and pre-qualified for Mobile Device Management/Enterprise Mobility Management by SOTI so that companies and organisations can securely manage all devices throughout their lifecycle.
The RG760 was developed in very close cooperation with industry experts and has already been successfully used at major events and in crisis scenarios.
